Early Voting

What is early voting?

Section 20A-3-601 of the Utah Code allows voters to cast their votes in person up to 14 days before Election Day.  The goal of early voting is to increase participation in the voting process and to relieve congestion and long lines at the polls on Election Day.  A voter need not provide a reason why they wish to vote early.

Who can early vote?

Any person who is registered to vote may vote early.

Who should early vote?

Any registered voter who does not want to stand in long lines on Election Day or who will be out of town on Election Day.  Generally waiting lines are short or non-existent; and parking is readily available.
