FAQs

The Weber County Animal Shelter opened its doors during the summer of 2000 with big goals. The goal of the management and staff of the shelter is to see as many animals as possible leave through the front door. We work very hard to locate owners of lost pets. If the owners are not found, we do all we can to see these animals adopted into loving homes.

Even though Weber County encompasses several cities, incorporated and unincorporated, Weber County Animal Services provides animal care and control to the cities that have contracted their services. The areas that we provide service to are: Farr West City, Harrisville City, Hooper City, Marriott/Slaterville, Huntsville, Plain City, West Haven City, Washington Terrace City, and all unincorporated areas of Weber County. If you live in one of these areas, you are required to license your animals with Weber County Animal Services. Please check licensing requirements for your area. If you do not live in one of these areas, check with your local city office to determine who serves your animal care needs.

If you find a stray, the very best chance for the animal to be reunited with it's loving family, is for you to take it to the animal shelter in the area you found the animal. Holding it, for even a week, will drasticly reduce it's chances of getting back home.

If you are interested in adopting a pet please read our policy on adoption.
The shelter is happy to receive gifts of food, toys, other supplies or money to benefit the animals housed at the shelter. For more information about the shelter and how to make a donation, please contact the staff at 399-8244.

The shelter is located just inside the North entrance to the Golden Spike Event Center off West Harrisville Road in Ogden, at 1373 North 750 West.
