Health Dept Home

Seeing our residents achieve or maintain a healthy weight is a top priority for the Weber-Morgan Health Department.  If a healthy weight is a top priority for you, too, we’re here to help!  Check out our programs and services:

Programs for school sites:

The Gold Medal Schools and GMS Power-Up programs target childhood obesity at the school level.  More information on these programs, including how to sign your school up, can be found by clicking here.

Guide to Combat Obesity:

The Guide to Combat Obesity was developed by the Weber Coalition for a Healthier Community’s Childhood Obesity Taskforce.  The purpose of the guide is to promote a healthy weight for children and families by providing information about resources and organizations in Weber County that provide opportunities for increased nutrition and/or physical activity.

Rx for a Healthy Weight:

It is important for families to work together to build habits that will keep them healthy.  The Rx Pad for a Healthy Weight is a “prescription pad” for use in a healthcare setting that helps providers discuss healthy lifestyles with their patients and their families.  The Rx Pads can be used in conjunction with the Guide to Combat Obesity, above, or as a stand-alone tool. Rx Pads can be provided free of charge to interested healthcare providers by calling (801) 399-7187, or may be downloaded below.
