WMHD teams with Immunization Express in Morgan

Birth certificates and immunizations, one-stop to get kids ready for school year

The Immunization Express will stop in Morgan on August 6 to provide parents with an opportunity to keep their children’s vaccination schedules up to date in advance of the coming school year. Weber Morgan Health Department nurses will participate in the clinic along with employees from the Vital Records office who will be prepared to issue birth certificates while parents wait.

“We look at this as a back-to-school day for our customers in Morgan,” says Kim Caliari, deputy registrar for Weber and Morgan Counties. “We’ve only recently been able to offer vital record services without having patrons come to our office in downtown Ogden.”

The clinic will be held from 8:30 to 11 a.m. at the Morgan Middle School, 115 E. Young Street.

Those who need to pick up birth certificates need to bring photo identification. Cost of birth certificates is $18. Copies are $8. Death certificates, $16, may also be obtained with proper identification.

Children 0-18 years can receive shots for $10 if they qualify for funding from the Vaccines for Children program. Qualifications includes those who are enrolled in Medicaid, or Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) or have insurance that does not cover immunizations or if they are of American Indian or Alaskan heritage. The clinic also has the ability to bill most insurance companies.

Morgan residents can also visit WMHD’s new Morgan clinic, 236 E. Young Street.
