Safe Kids Day slated for Ogden Eccles Dinosaur Park
New location offers 2-for 1 Safety Fun and FREE Entrance into the Park

Ogden, Utah The Safe Kids Weber-Morgan Coalition celebrates its annual Safe Kids Day on Saturday, April 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Ogden Eccles Dinosaur Park, 1544 Park Blvd, in Ogden. Admission is FREE and includes all the dinosaur exhibits as well more than 50 booths with activities for families.

“We’re in a new location this year,” says coalition coordinator Elisabeth Hansen. “So when you come to Sake Kids Day, you’re really getting a 2-for-1 deal with all of the fun of Safe Kids Day and free entrance to the dinosaur park, which is already one of the most kid-friendly places in town.”¬†

Many of the dinosaur exhibits in the park will feature a different safety message. Organizers will have $6 bike helmets while supplies last. Child must be present to obtain one.  Booths will feature topics that focus on preventing injuries, health and wellness, and emergency preparedness. Patrons will receive a map of the booths. Kids can earn a free Safe Kids Day Dog Tag by visiting certain booths that are identified on the map with a star, and turn it in when completed. At Safe Kids Day you can Promise to always buckle up with Zero Fatalities, Ogden Clinic will be checking cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure, and body fat, learn about bike and pedestrian safety, build kits with Home Depot, and visit the Life Safety Trailer to learn about fire and home safety. Many other activities including face painting, pie eating, the entertainment shows and more.

“Another nice feature of the new location is that it’s at the end of the Ogden River Parkway and we encourage people to walk or bike together as families to Safe Kids Day this year, says coordinator Jann Fawcett. “The focus of the event might be Safe Kids, but many of the activities are for parents and ways parents and children can learn together to prevent injuries and lead safe and happy lives.”
