WMHD Offers 10-Week Adult Smoking-Cessation Class

What: The Weber-Morgan Health Department is offering a free, 10-week smoking-cessation class for adults who want to break their nicotine habit.

Group discussions include such topics as ways to manage stress, nutrition and weight management, assertive communication, coping with social situations and others.

Where: Riverdale Elementary School
1160 W. 4400 South

When: Tuesdays, January 22 through March 11
5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Who: The free class is taught by certified smoking-cessation instructors from the Weber-Morgan Heath Department. The courses are taken from the American Lung Association’s “Freedom From Smoking” curriculum.

Why: Health educators hope to foster an atmosphere that will help people keep their New Year’s resolutions.

“Now is the time to break free from your cigarette addiction,” says health educator Anna Guymon. “If you’ve been told to quit or want to do it for your own health and that of your family, we will provide support and education that will help you reach your goals.”
