Animal Control
Question: Is Weber County's
a no-kill shelter?
Answer: No. We try hard to find animals
homes, but there are no guarantees. We will not place a dog
that has bitten, is extremely sick, or has shown any aggressive
tendencies at all. We also have a hard time placing anything
over five years old, but we do try.
Question: Can I adopt
from you if I don't live in Weber County?
Answer: Yes. We've shipped dogs to New
York, Colorado, and Illinois. We've also had people drive
to here from all over to adopt animals.
Question: Do you handle
skunks and raccoons?
Answer: No. Animal Services is for domesticated
animals only. We do handle horses, cows, goats, etc. as strays.
After 10 days we give them to the Weber County livestock auction.

Question: Do you kill
certain breeds?
Answer: No. We have adopted out Rottweilers,
Pit Bulls, and other breeds with bad reputations. We do screen
very closely, and base whether the animal is put up for adoption
on their personalities, not on their breed.
Question: I live in
Ogden. That's in Weber County. So aren't you my animal shelter?
Answer: No. Ogden City has their own animal
shelter and their own animal control. They are located by
the mouth of the Ogden Canyon. Their phone number is (801)629-8244.
Question: From what
areas do you accept animals?
Answer: We will take an animal if you live
in South Ogden, Washington Terrace, Riverdale, Harrisville,
Plain City, Huntsville, Farr West, West Haven,
Hooper, Marriott/Slaterville, Uintah and any unincorporated part
of Weber County.
Question: What areas
do you handle animal control?
Answer: Our animal control officers service
Plain City, Huntsville, Farr West, West Haven, Hooper, Marriott/Slaterville,
Harrisville, Washington Terrace and unincorporated Weber County.
